CREC’s Preschool at Progress Drive is an extension of three CREC magnet schools: Academy of Aerospace and Engineering Elementary (Rocky Hill), Glastonbury East Hartford Magnet School (Glastonbury), and University of Hartford Magnet School (Hartford). When applying to Progress Drive, families have the unique opportunity to select a direct pathway to continue the magnet experience in kindergarten – grade 5 at one of these three magnet schools. On the RSCO application, the following three options are available for CREC’s Preschool at Progress Drive:

Upon enrollment, Progress Drive students will be placed in classrooms with peers who share the same pathway, which means they will have established friendships when transitioning to the new school for kindergarten. Classrooms will also incorporate the theme of the pathway school.

Applicant Priorities
Applicants applying to this school with one or more of the following priorities may have an increased chance of receiving a placement offer if they apply during the on-time period and select the appropriate CREC Preschool at Progress Drive pathways option as their first-choice school selection.

Preschool at Progress Drive Pathway Information

Direct Pathway School Priority
Once enrolled at the CERC Preschool at Progress Drive, PK4 students that are interested in continuing their magnet experience to kindergarten should submit an on-time RSCO online application and select their direct pathway school as the first choice to receive this priority. Applicants are only eligible for a direct pathway priority for the school associated with their preschool placement. For example, if your child receives a placement offer for CREC Preschool at Progress Drive, Glastonbury East Hartford Magnet School Pathway, they are only eligible for priority at Glastonbury East Hartford Magnet School.
