The Fatherhood Initiative at CREC led by Joseph A. Johnson and the CREC Family & Community Engagement team is a program designed to address the traditional bias that has become common practice across schools and districts.

This initiative is designed to facilitate a higher level of engagement and connection between our schools and the fathers and father-figures of CREC students. While focused on engagement with fathers and equity, it also ensures that educational information and resources are available within every school. The Fatherhood Initiative Program is designed to be inclusive and welcoming.

In efforts to allow fathers and father-figures to participate in their child’s school community, events are sponsored to promote fun activities such as movie nights, Dads N’ Discussion events and other various social and educational workshops.
